Ivy is like a Ryan Gosling movie - you're never really sure what happened, but you know you're coming back for more. Despite his disability, the Kiwi known as Sean has overcome his nationality and has put together Medellin's best hostel (and coffee house). Great beds, great people, and a night manager who might have been the offspring of Pablo - the Ivy Hostel is a great home away from home for any weiry traveller.

This hostel is quite literally a beautiful woman bending over in a low cut dress. It's awesome. A great place for travellers, away from the khaki shorts of Poblado, but still in Poblado, you dig? Sean/the owner is like a cross between Sinatra and Kennedy. He's super accommodating, friendly, full of great banter - and by no means affiliated with the underworld. For Australians, unfortunately, he is a Kiwi - but he hides his Kiwi well. You could almost mistake him for a bad ass Canadian dude.

Great staff and owners. Not a party hostel, but you will find people to have a drink with. Bathrooms and rooms are really nice and so are the public spaces. Place is right next to the metro station and finally a place that serves some decent (free) breakfast. This is how it is supposed to be done! Thanks!

Amazing hostel! Spent a week here and directly felt at home. Some great things about the hostel are the lounge (best couch ever, Netflix, all sports channels, etc) the breakfast is amazing and free! The staff is really well informed and (sometimes) funny. They will help you plan your stay in Medellin and the rest of Colombia. Especially the owner Andrew can give great tips to improve your Medellin experience. Ask him about the ball pit for a nightly activity 😉 Overall happy with my stay in this cozy, clean and well located hostel! This is how it's supposed to be thanks guys!
